Metal Retractable Dog Safety Gate

This gate replaced 2 retractable cloth gates and it works so much better! My dogs ate through the other two and this keeps them secure in their doggie room. I highly recommend

First off, with any gate you have to think about the ease of installation. This is very easy. Everything you need is included and attached with a zip tie to the gate.

Next, how easy is it to open and close? This locks very easy. I really like the retractable part, when it's open it's pretty much gone as it bunches up retracted. There's no gate hanging open when it's open. So it looks really nice. You do need to make sure the size is correct or it won't be fully flat, but even that is ok. It still opens and closes when it's slightly too big.

I like the quality, feels like it will survive dog's leaning on it. The height will keep my dog from trying to jump over it, even though she could.

For the money the value seems like an average buy.

If you're looking for a retractable gate, this is a good choice.

This retractable pet gate is very well made and feels much sturdier than some of the other gates I've used in the past. The metal construction makes a big difference, and once installed, it feels solid and secure, and my pets haven't been able to push through or squeeze around it. I DID have to remove a section to get it to the proper length for my door opening, so I really appreciated that option since, as you can see in the photo, it was a little too wide when I installed it.
The no bottom bar design is a nice plus. It's easy to walk through without worrying about tripping over a bottom support, and it keeps the doorway feeling open when the gate is extended. When it's not in use, the auto-retract feature works well and the gate tucks away neatly, which is nice.
Installation was straightforward with the included hardware, and the drill-mounted setup gives it a very stable feel. The adjustable mount options also made it easy to fit the opening properly, even with baseboards.
One small note: I ordered the white version but received the black gate instead. That said, the black actually looks okay in the space and didn't affect functionality at all. Overall, this is a strong, reliable, and thoughtfully designed pet gate, and I'm very happy with it despite the color mix-up.

Many things I do like about this gate.
One note I would point out though it is not a great one for top of stairs.
Due to the folding feature of this one it is not as rigid ad non folding gates so therefore it is one to take note of where it is going to be located which to me does not seem like good for top of stairs because can push too easily on it.
Also not so sure it is a good gate for large dogs that would push on it or stand up on it.
It is great though for smaller to medium dogs.
I really do like the foldable feature of this one so that when not needing it in use i can push it back up against the wall
It is easy to install and comes with everything you will need as well as guides for drilling the holes.
Overall I do think it is a good gate for the right situations

I have used so many pet/ baby gates over the years. I prefer wall mounted, like this one is, because it is easier than removing and resetting the pressure mounted type, plus those always fall over when trying to lean them up against something when not in use.

Lately, I had been using the wall mounted gates that use roll away vinyl or fabric. I do like those because they roll away making it easy to have them outof the way when not in use and they are versatile widthwise. While they do have total coverage since they don't have bars, they can allow for a bit of a gap on the bottom, it is not as tight fitting as a solid metal bar. This gate helps with the problem of the bottom not being as secure. The other thing that makes this better than the vinyl or fabric is that over time and depending on the use, the vinyl and fabric does show some signs of wear and dirt that are difficult to clean.

I had never seen a gate like this before that is accordian style and I think it is a great alternative and solves some problems other gates might have, depending on your needs.

This gate is a great iption, just remember to measure, it is wall mounted so it will leav holes and you do need some level of household handiwork to be able to install it.

Works great easy to install

I've been looking for a gate like this for a long time. I just installed it and it appears as if it's going to work out great.
I would like to see a heavy-duty version that could prevent a human from falling down stairs.

Awesome gate. Easy to install and adjust the length. This gate is more sturdy than given credit for. We were tired of moving the solid expanding gate from the doorway every passing. Now we just slip thru and click it back into place. Folds up nice against the wall if we want to leave the doorway open.

This dog gate is very easy to install and very easy to use. I had no issues at all with following the installation guide that was provided and I like that you can fold it away when not in use. That being said, it is very flimsy and if my big dog (60+ lbs) came barreling in, he would easily rip it out of place. The locking capability is smooth and so far, does not get stuck or caught even when I have to repeatedly open and close the gate.

So this one works where I am trying to keep my smaller dogs away from certain areas in the house and it looks nice and neat when in use and even nicer when tucked away!

Escape is so different than some of the other retractable ones we tried. I love how it is actual metal and hard so it's not something the dog can chew through like some of the other retractable Gates but at the same time it's easy to open and close and looks fantastic. It was a little difficult to install mostly because you had to line up all of the points exactly on the opposite walls but it fit perfectly once I made sure to take the extra time to make sure everything lined up. The function of the screen is working exactly as I had hoped and it stores away to practically nothing when collapsed.

The wall-mounted, accordion-style design looks clean with no bottom bar to trip over when it is folded (and the bottom bar is the thing I hated most about my last gate). Excellent gate for limited space.
Im not using this all of the time so I wanted something that tucked away and didn't take up room when not in use.
I have a closet on one side of the hallway and bathroom on the other so a regular gate would just be blocking those doors when left opened.
Looks great and leaves hallway opening uninterrupted. Love it!

This gate looks great, installs easily, and works well for blocking off general doorways and hallways. The retractable design is convenient, and I love that there's no bottom bar to trip over. It's also sturdy enough for pets and light use.
That said, I'm not a fan of how it isn't fully tight. It has a bit of side-to-side movement, which makes it feel less secure than I'd want for toddler safety - especially at the top of stairs. While it stays in place, the flexibility makes it feel more like a pet gate than a true child safety gate for stair use.
Overall, it's a good option for pets and general room separation, but I wouldn't rely on it alone for stair safety with an active toddler. If it were more rigid and secure, I'd easily give it 5 stars.

This is such a wonderful accordion style dog gate. Honestly, whatever dog gate you're looking at from this brand, you can rest easy knowing that it's gonna be a good quality. This one is no exception. This one does mount to the wall though so if you are looking for one that is pressure mounted or Just stands up, not attached to anything, then this one probably isn't the one for you.

The gate is exactly like what you see in the pictures. All of the hardware is included and it's pretty standard price for what it is. It is not cheap quality. It's really nice quality. It arrived packaged well and is working great.

This metal retractable pet gate from Pawreto is my third one from them and it feels just as well made and thoughtfully designed as the others, right down to including everything needed for a proper install. We foster a lot of senior dogs, many with mobility issues, so the no bottom bar design is a real help since there is nothing for them or us to trip over. When the gate is opened it auto retracts and gets out of the way, which keeps the doorway clear.

The bottom uses a small ball to help it roll as it retracts, and while that works well on our hard floors, I don't think this gate will work on a carpeted area. The width is adjustable by removing a panel, and that process was surprisingly easy, which made fitting it to our doorway easy. It is important to know this is a drill mounted gate, not a pressure or free standing one, so you do need to be okay with installing it into the wall, but that also means it feels very secure once it is up. Overall it looks nice, feels solid, and does exactly what we need it to do in a busy foster home.
