Best purchase ever made. Bought a new house and had my cat and my partners cat that have never met. My cat is friendly and didn't care, but their cat had some words to say about it. My cat roams downstairs, and she is upstairs. We placed the gate at the top of the stairs, and it has been the best thing for them to get introduced to each other. It was a hissing fit at first, but 1 months later, they are now walking past each other and playing without a care. Most people recommend the door trick and letting them sniff each other out over time, but this was far better since they could always see each other, and interact safely through the gate. 1000% recommend for introducing pets to each other and keeping them safely separated, but together. With vertical bars, they don't even attempt to climb it. Installation was super easy and quick, and gate handle is easy to open for humans, impossible for pets, so no worries of escapes. Gate swings both ways, and is spring-loaded, so closes behind you and lock clicks in place, but if opened wide it can also stay open as needed. It is a bit pricey, but well worth the money.
I'm sure for most cats this does the job more than enough. One of my cats is an absolute anxious attached menace and found a way to still persist through it. ?? However, after some daily adjustments and problem solving for my special case, it is great. It's absolutely very durable, It's well made and it isn't an absolute headache to deal with.

It solved the problem of cats going upstairs and doing things they shouldn't do. I half expected them to tear it down but so far so good.
We have used this to keep our cats that fight separated. We have one cat that can jump to the top of it and get over. But, it is really difficult for him. We can catch him attempting to jump over and stop him. It is sturdy and well made.

Sturdy, easy installation. Perfect for keeping my cats out of rooms I don't want them in and still allow for air/heat circulation in those rooms. Easy to operate opening and love the auto close feature. Top extension is not as sturdy as I would like but it works!

Not only does it look great, it is extremely functional. We did have to permanently install it because it does move if you don't permanently put it in, especially when it's a door that you go in and out of a lot. I have this to keep my animals out of the kitchen
